Before you continue
Submitting an enquiry or availability request does not automatically create a confirmed rental. A booking is confirmed only when we accept it in writing, and the signed Motorcycle Rental Agreement governs the motorcycle hire itself.

1. About us and these terms
These Website Terms and Conditions (Website Terms) apply when you visit, browse or use rentalbikesuk.com, rentalbikesbrighton.com, or any replacement website operated by Rental Bikes Brighton LTD (the Website), and when you submit an enquiry, availability request or booking request through the Website.
Rental Bikes Brighton LTD is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15758086. Its registered office is C/O Business Management Consultation, Knoll Business Centre, Old Shorham Road, Hove, East Sussex, BN3 7GS. You can contact us at info@rentalbikesuk.com or 07939 584886.
In these Website Terms, we, us, our and the Company mean Rental Bikes Brighton LTD. You and customer mean the person using the Website or requesting or receiving rental services. In the Motorcycle Rental Agreement, the Company is called the Hirer and the customer is called the Hiree.
By using the Website, you agree to these Website Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Website. Nothing in these Website Terms excludes or restricts any consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. Relationship with the Motorcycle Rental Agreement
These Website Terms govern use of the Website and the online enquiry and booking-request process. They do not replace the Motorcycle Rental Agreement.
A motorcycle rental is governed by the version of the Motorcycle Rental Agreement accepted by you and the Company for that rental, together with its completed vehicle, pricing, insurance, condition and schedule records. You must review and accept that agreement before a motorcycle is handed over.
If these Website Terms conflict with a signed Motorcycle Rental Agreement, the Motorcycle Rental Agreement takes priority for the rental itself. These Website Terms continue to govern Website use and the booking process. In every case, applicable consumer law takes priority.
3. Website information and availability
We take reasonable steps to keep motorcycle descriptions, images, indicative availability, prices and other information accurate and current. Images may be illustrative and minor details may differ from the motorcycle available for handover.
Displayed availability is not guaranteed and may change because of an extension, late return, repair, safety inspection, theft, accident or another event outside our reasonable control. A motorcycle is not reserved merely because it appears available on the Website.
A listing, price or availability display is an invitation to submit a request, not an offer that you can accept automatically. We may correct an obvious pricing, description or availability error before confirming a booking. If an error affects a confirmed booking, we will contact you promptly and offer a lawful and reasonable solution, which may include a suitable alternative or a refund of any affected prepayment.
4. Enquiries, booking requests and confirmation
Submitting a Website form, selecting a motorcycle, sending documents or receiving an automated acknowledgement does not by itself create a confirmed booking or a rental contract.
A booking is confirmed only when we send you a clear written booking confirmation after checking availability and any required eligibility information. The booking confirmation will identify, so far as applicable, the intended motorcycle or category, collection date and time, rental price, security deposit, minimum rental period and any prepayment.
The rental itself remains conditional upon satisfactory identity, licence, CBT and insurance checks; payment of the amounts due; the motorcycle remaining safe and available; and acceptance of the Motorcycle Rental Agreement. We may decline a request where these conditions are not met, where information is inaccurate or incomplete, or where supplying the motorcycle would be unlawful or unsafe.
You must check the booking confirmation and tell us promptly if any detail is incorrect.
5. Eligibility and information you provide
To rent a motorcycle, you must meet all legal, licensing, insurance and eligibility requirements stated on the Website, in the booking confirmation and in the Motorcycle Rental Agreement. These normally include holding a valid driving licence, a valid CBT certificate where required, and insurance suitable for the motorcycle and its intended use.
You must provide complete, accurate and current information. You must not submit another person’s identity, licence, CBT, insurance or payment information without lawful authority. You must promptly tell us if relevant information changes before collection or during the rental.
We may ask to see original or verifiable electronic documents. Supplying documents does not guarantee acceptance. We may use proportionate verification measures and may refuse handover where we reasonably believe a document is invalid, altered, expired, inconsistent or unsuitable.
6. Prices and key rental terms
Unless a different amount is clearly stated in your booking confirmation and inserted in the Motorcycle Rental Agreement, the standard contractual terms are £85 per week, payable weekly in advance on Wednesday; a £200 security deposit; a five-week minimum rental period; and fourteen days’ written notice to end the rental after the minimum period.
The headline rental price includes compulsory charges known at the point of booking. Possible event-based charges or liabilities, such as late-payment administration, recovery, out-of-hours return, missing fuel, lost keys, damage or insurance excess, are not part of the headline price because they arise only if the relevant event occurs. They are described in these Website Terms and in more detail in the Motorcycle Rental Agreement.
You are responsible for reviewing the total price, deposit, minimum commitment, notice period, insurance requirements and potential liabilities before accepting the Motorcycle Rental Agreement. We will not add an optional extra to your booking without your express agreement.
7. Security deposit
The standard security deposit is £200 unless your booking confirmation and Motorcycle Rental Agreement clearly state another amount. The security deposit remains your money unless and until it is properly applied to an amount lawfully due under the Motorcycle Rental Agreement.
The deposit may be used only for lawful amounts such as unpaid rent, properly imposed late-payment charges, damage beyond fair wear and tear, lost or damaged keys or accessories, properly incurred recovery costs, an applicable insurance excess, or another reasonable and evidenced amount for which you are contractually liable.
Subject to lawful deductions, the remaining deposit balance will be refunded within seven days after the motorcycle has been returned and the return inspection has been completed. Deductions will be itemised and, where applicable, supported by reasonable evidence. We will not deduct for ordinary fair wear and tear or recover the same cost twice.
8. Online and pre-collection cancellation
Where a confirmed booking is for vehicle rental on a specific date or during a specific period, the usual statutory 14-day cancellation right for distance contracts generally does not apply. This reflects the vehicle-rental exception in regulation 28(1)(h) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
If a statutory cancellation right applies to your particular contract despite that exception, nothing in these Website Terms limits it. Any additional contractual pre-collection cancellation right or charge will apply only if it is stated clearly in your booking confirmation before you become bound.
To cancel a booking request or confirmed booking before collection, contact us promptly at info@rentalbikesuk.com or 07939 584886 and provide your name, booking reference and intended collection date. We will confirm the effect of the cancellation and the treatment of any prepayment in writing.
We may cancel before handover if the motorcycle becomes unavailable because of damage, breakdown, theft, safety concerns or another event we could not reasonably avoid; if required documents or payments are not provided; or if we reasonably believe handover would be unlawful or unsafe. Where cancellation is not caused by your breach, we will refund any payment for services not supplied, and this will not affect any further legal right you may have.
9. Minimum period, termination and notice after collection
The standard minimum rental period is five weeks. If you choose to end the rental before completing it, an £85 Early Termination Charge may apply in addition to rental accrued to the effective termination date, as set out in the Motorcycle Rental Agreement. It does not apply where termination results from our material breach, where we waive it in writing, or where it would be prohibited by law.
After the minimum period, you must normally give at least fourteen days’ written notice. If you give less notice, the Notice Shortfall Charge is calculated as weekly rent divided by seven, multiplied by the number of missing notice days, capped at two weeks’ rent and subject to the mitigation and no-double-recovery safeguards in the Motorcycle Rental Agreement.
Returning the motorcycle early does not automatically shorten the notice period. A week-to-week extension exists only when it is recorded in a dated written or electronic extension accepted by both parties. Payment alone does not create an extension.
10. Promotional offers
A promotion is subject to its stated conditions and availability. Unless stated otherwise, promotions have no cash value, are not transferable and cannot be combined.
Where a free rental week is offered on condition that the customer completes at least five continuous rental weeks, the free week is a conditional discount. If the qualifying period is not completed because the customer ends early or causes termination through a material breach, the standard weekly price for that promotional week may become payable. This is subject to the detailed safeguards in the Motorcycle Rental Agreement and applicable consumer law.
11. Collection and handover
You must attend the agreed collection location at the agreed time with all required original or verifiable documents. We may reasonably rearrange handover if checks cannot be completed or the motorcycle is not ready for safe release.
Before handover, you and the Company should record the motorcycle’s identity, mileage, fuel level, existing damage, accessories, keys and condition evidence. You should raise any concern before accepting the motorcycle.
Risk and contractual responsibility begin at the collection date and exact time stated in the Motorcycle Rental Agreement, not when you submit a Website request.
12. Insurance, licence and CBT
You must obtain and maintain continuous insurance for the motorcycle throughout the rental, including any permitted delivery or business use. You are responsible for checking that the policy is valid for a hired motorcycle and for the intended rider and use.
You must maintain a valid licence, CBT certificate and any other legal entitlement required to ride. You must immediately stop using the motorcycle and notify us if your insurance, licence or CBT expires, is cancelled, suspended, revoked or otherwise ceases to be valid.
If your policy provides third-party-only cover, you may remain liable under the Motorcycle Rental Agreement for loss of or damage to the motorcycle that is not paid by your insurer, subject to applicable law and the agreement’s liability safeguards.
13. Use of the motorcycle
The motorcycle may be used only by the authorised customer, for lawful personal use and reasonable routine business purposes such as commuting and legitimate deliveries, provided the use is licensed, insured, lawful and permitted by the Motorcycle Rental Agreement.
You must not sublet the motorcycle, transfer possession, permit an unauthorised rider, use it unlawfully, use it in a way that invalidates insurance, race it, overload it, or use it in an unsafe or prohibited manner.
You must take reasonable care of the motorcycle and follow the maintenance, security, accident, theft and reporting obligations in the Motorcycle Rental Agreement.
14. Payments and late-payment process
Rental is normally paid weekly in advance on Wednesday. If an undisputed payment is missed, we will first give written notice and a reasonable opportunity to pay.
If the default continues and the corresponding work is genuinely undertaken and recorded, the Motorcycle Rental Agreement permits a £10 Initial Late-Payment Charge after more than 24 hours following written notice; an additional £15 Collection Administration Charge after three days and a further demand or reasonable collection activity; and an additional £25 Final Default Administration Charge after five days and a formal termination, return or pre-recovery notice.
These charges are capped at £50 for one continuous payment-default episode. They are not repeated merely because another weekly payment becomes due during the same continuing default, and the same cost is not recovered twice. No charge applies to a genuine payment dispute raised before the charge, an error caused by us, or where the charge would be unlawful.
15. Termination, tracking and electronic starter inhibition
A motorcycle may contain professionally installed tracking and electronic starter-inhibition equipment. Further information about relevant personal-data processing is provided in our Privacy Notice.
If an undisputed rental payment remains unpaid for five days and the required notices have been issued, we may terminate the Motorcycle Rental Agreement in writing, withdraw permission to possess or use the motorcycle, and require its immediate return.
Only after effective termination, and solely to protect the motorcycle and facilitate prompt lawful recovery, we may activate starter inhibition where we have reasonable grounds to confirm that the motorcycle is stationary, switched off, unoccupied and in a safe location, and activation is permitted by law, our insurance and the system provider’s requirements.
Starter inhibition must never be used to stop or interfere with a moving motorcycle or a motorcycle whose engine is running. It does not authorise forced entry, trespass, confrontation, breach of the peace or any unsafe or unlawful recovery method. Recovery will be arranged as soon as reasonably practicable after activation.
16. Recovery charges
Where standard recovery is reasonably required and genuinely arranged or undertaken because of your breach, your request for a convenience collection, or a breakdown for which you are responsible, the standard charge is £30 where the motorcycle is within five road miles of BN3 4GN, plus £5 for each additional road mile beyond the first five miles.
Mileage is measured using the shortest reasonably practicable road route from BN3 4GN to the recovery location. If standard recovery is not reasonably available and specialist equipment, motorway recovery, storage or a third-party provider is required, you may be charged the reasonable and evidenced cost actually incurred.
We will provide an itemised calculation. We will not charge both the standard tariff and a separate third-party cost for the same recovery. Recovery remains subject to the lawful, safe and proportionate procedures in the Motorcycle Rental Agreement.
17. Breakdowns, accidents, theft and damage
You must notify us as soon as reasonably practicable of a breakdown, warning light, accident, theft, attempted theft, damage or safety concern and follow reasonable instructions. You must not authorise repair or recovery without our prior approval unless emergency action is reasonably necessary to protect a person or property from immediate danger.
We are responsible for reasonable recovery and repair costs where a breakdown or fault was not caused or contributed to by you. You are responsible for reasonable recovery and repair costs caused or contributed to by your negligence, misuse, unauthorised use, maintenance failure or breach.
Your liability for accident, theft, damage, insurance excess or uninsured loss is governed by the Motorcycle Rental Agreement, your insurance and applicable law. Charges must be reasonable, proportionate and supported by appropriate evidence.
18. Fines, penalties, tolls and traffic charges
During the rental and every properly authorised extension, you are responsible for fixed penalties, penalty charge notices, parking charges, road-user charges, tolls, congestion charges, clean-air or emissions charges, moving-traffic charges and similar liabilities arising from the use or keeping of the motorcycle where liability may lawfully be imposed on or transferred to you.
We may provide your rental and identity details to an issuing or enforcement authority where lawful and necessary. Any separate administration cost may be charged only if it is clearly provided for in the Motorcycle Rental Agreement, genuinely incurred, reasonable and not recovered twice.
19. Return of the motorcycle
You must return the motorcycle, keys, security equipment and accessories at the agreed place, date and time, in substantially the same condition as supplied, allowing for fair wear and tear, and with substantially the same fuel level.
For a standard week ending Tuesday, an agreed appointment may be no later than 6:00 p.m. Tuesday or, if agreed in writing before expiry, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Wednesday. Saturday’s latest standard appointment is 12:00 p.m. The business is closed on Sundays unless a return is agreed in writing.
A £20 Out-of-Hours Return Charge may apply only where a return outside the agreed appointment or normal business hours causes additional administration or staffing cost. Missing fuel, exceptional cleaning, lost items and damage beyond fair wear and tear may be charged on the reasonable and evidenced basis stated in the Motorcycle Rental Agreement.
A return inspection will normally be completed within seven days. Returning the motorcycle outside business hours or leaving it with an agreed third party may leave you responsible until it is collected and inspected, where reasonable in the circumstances.
20. Website accounts, forms and acceptable use
You must not misuse the Website, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, scrape or harvest information without permission, interfere with availability, impersonate another person, or use forms to submit unlawful, abusive, fraudulent or misleading content.
If the Website offers an account or reference link, you are responsible for keeping access credentials secure and for promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorised use. We may suspend Website access where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance or investigation of misuse.
21. Intellectual property
The Website and its text, branding, photographs, graphics, layouts, databases and software are owned by us or used with permission and are protected by intellectual-property law.
You may view the Website and retain a copy of booking or contractual information for your personal records. You may not reproduce, republish, sell, exploit, alter or systematically extract Website content for commercial use without prior written permission, except where law permits.
22. Privacy, cookies and communications
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Notice. The Website’s Cookie Notice explains the cookies and similar technologies used and the choices available to you. Those notices form separate policies and should be read alongside these Website Terms.
We may use the contact details you provide to respond to an enquiry, administer a booking or rental, send contractual notices, protect the motorcycle, investigate an incident, comply with law and pursue or defend legal rights. Marketing communications will be sent only where permitted, and you may opt out of marketing without affecting service messages.
Submitting a form over the internet carries inherent security risks. Do not send payment-card details, passwords or unnecessary sensitive information by ordinary email or an unprotected free-text field.
23. Website availability and liability
We aim to keep the Website available and secure but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. We may update, suspend or withdraw part of the Website for maintenance, security, legal or operational reasons.
We do not exclude liability where exclusion is unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or breach of statutory consumer rights.
Subject to those protections, we are not responsible for loss caused solely by your misuse of the Website, your failure to follow reasonable security instructions, or an event outside our reasonable control. If you use the Website wholly or mainly for business purposes, we are not liable for loss of profit, business, contracts, opportunity, goodwill or anticipated savings arising only from Website use, except where law provides otherwise.
Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience. We do not control third-party content, availability, privacy or security and are not responsible for it, although this does not affect liability we cannot lawfully exclude.
24. Complaints and disputes
Please contact us first if you have a complaint so that we can try to resolve it promptly. Email info@rentalbikesuk.com with your name, contact details, booking or agreement reference, motorcycle registration if relevant, a clear description of the issue and the outcome you seek.
We may request reasonable supporting information. Using our complaints process does not remove your right to seek independent advice, contact an appropriate consumer-enforcement body or use a court or another dispute-resolution route available by law.
25. Governing law and general terms
These Website Terms and any non-contractual dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without depriving a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom of a mandatory right to bring proceedings in the courts applicable to their home jurisdiction.
If a provision is unlawful, unfair or unenforceable, it will be removed or limited only to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue where legally possible.
A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. No person other than you and the Company has a right to enforce these Website Terms, except where law provides otherwise.
We may update these Website Terms to reflect legal, operational or Website changes. The version displayed when you use the Website governs that use. A later Website update will not retrospectively change an existing confirmed booking or signed Motorcycle Rental Agreement unless the parties lawfully agree the change in writing.
